The Taliban spokesman surprised: "What problem do we have with Israel?" | Israel today

At the same time as the deteriorating socio-economic situation in Afghanistan, the spokesman for the extremist organization expressed a "conciliatory" tone when he said: "For anyone who has a problem with us, we are ready to talk" • When asked about Israel, he replied: "There is no point in solving problems with people who have nothing to do with us."

The extremist Taliban organization was for years considered hostile to the West, and as a result to Israel as well, but a statement by the organization's spokesman, Mocham Naim Bardak, managed to surprise even the Al Jazeera presenter.

"Our policy is to solve problems through dialogue and mutual understanding - with everyone," first explained Naim Bardak in an interview with him last night (Wednesday).

"For anyone who has a problem with us, we are ready to talk," he continued before being interrupted by the presenter of the Qatari network who asked him about Israel.

"Dialogue with everyone? Even with Israel?", asked the presenter.

"What problem do we have with Israel?" wondered the Taliban spokesman.

"In the next step you will ask me if we want to develop a dialogue with the Martians," he added.

"Israel is a country," emphasized the journalist.

"Some say that the way to the heart of America goes through Israel," he hinted.

"If you have a problem with someone you can solve it. We want to solve problems that others have with us," replied Bardak.

The presenter asked: "So you don't have a problem with Israel now?", the Taliban spokesman answered: "You bring things from the end of the world and throw them here. If a country or a person does not have a problem with us, how can you even ask if we are ready to solve the problems with people who do not have Do they have anything to do with us?"

The interview was held to mark one year of the Taliban's rule and the establishment of the "Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan", this after the extremist organization's sudden takeover of the capital in August of last year, which ended with the hasty and fatal escape of the Americans from the country.

As you may remember, the Taliban share a border with the Islamic Republic of Iran and several incidents have been recorded over the past year between the military forces of the countries in the region.

Despite the conciliatory tone of the organization's spokesperson, we recall that since the establishment of the Taliban rule in Afghanistan, the country has been in free fall, both in regards to human rights and the socio-economic situation of the citizens.

About two weeks ago, a special column written by Abbas (pseudonym) from Kabul was published in "Israel Hayom".

"The change in the regime and the government gave rise to unexpected economic crises and it caused the prices to skyrocket while the purchasing power of the people is decreasing," wrote Abbas.

"Similarly, the situation of women and girls is particularly severe because their rights and opportunities have been limited and it includes restrictions on education, employment, travel and many others. The combined crises have had a very negative impact on the livelihood situation."
