With artistic, theatrical, cinematic and sports performances, the “Joy of Childhood” Festival, in its third session, receives children, providing them with an artistic and entertaining space before the end of the summer vacation and the start of the new school year.
The festival, which is organized by the Birds of Paradise troupe, in cooperation with the Directorate of Culture in Lattakia and with the support of activists in the community field and a number of NGOs, includes theater, cinema, sports and dance performances, training workshops for doll manufacturing, recycling and decoupage, in addition to a space for free drawing and story reading.
The opening of the festival, which began yesterday evening after an absence of two years due to the precautionary measures imposed by the Corona epidemic, was distinguished by its diversity by presenting theatrical segments for the school theater group entitled (Phoenix), and a theatrical performance entitled (A Homeland Tree) for the Children’s Theater family, in addition to artistic and dance performances. Jihad Al-Youssef, said in a statement to SANA that the festival organizers worked hard to attract children at the end of the holiday with a set of recreational and purposeful activities that help the child learn about various types of arts, experimentation and creativity through a set of manual activities, including the art of decoupage using old paper. The activities of the festival, which continues to receive children until next Sunday, concludes every day at two in the afternoon at the headquarters of the Arab Cultural Center in Lattakia with an exhibition of participating workshops and a tribute to the participants.
