Macron tries to avoid power cuts

The Defense Council settles in the landscape.

A confidential body devoted to national security issues for the country, it was originally never included in the official agenda of the President of the Republic.

Here it is now ending with an official report from one of its participants, the Minister for Energy Transition, Agnès Pannier-Runacher, in the form of a press conference.

The Covid epidemic has gone through this and with it the declination of the Defense Council in a health version first, then ecological, finally energy.

Confidentiality loses what pedagogy gains.

Because that is what it is all about: reassuring the French in the face of the energy crisis that threatens the country.

Against the background of a disruption in the supply of Russian gas because of the war in Ukraine, the executive fears having to impose power cuts this winter, for businesses and individuals alike.
