Garry Régis-Luce, 32, was shot dead by border police at Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport on August 10, alo

The death of Garry Régis-Luce had been filmed live by CCTV cameras.

On August 10, around 8:30 a.m., in terminal 2F of Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport, at gate 16, one of the four border police officers (PAF) fired on a man dressed in a black hoodie.

After a movement of recoil, they advance again, weapons in aim.

It is then that the silhouette of Garry Regis Luce appears.

He brandishes a blade in front of the agents.

One of them shoots and kills their attacker.

He falls to his knees and throws his knife in the direction of the officials.

The bullet fatally hit the victim in the abdomen.

He cannot be revived.

The family of Garry Régis-Luce, who resides in Martinique in the town of Rivière-Salée, arrived in France in the days that followed, to recognize and then repatriate the body of their son.

But also to file a complaint against X with a civil action for "intentional homicide by a person in charge of public force", reveals the online information site Mediapart.

“The complaint was forwarded to the IGPN (

General Inspectorate of the National Police

)”, specifies Éric Mathais, public prosecutor in Bobigny.

A process that will allow him to have access to the file.

Relatives wonder about this shot directed at the abdomen.

The police officers were equipped with bulletproof vests and heavily armed in front of a man equipped, certainly with a long blade, but alone in front of four policemen.

Victim buried on Monday

To examine the legality of the return fire and its proportionality, another investigation, administrative this one, was entrusted to the IGPN.

Other investigations had been carried out for “attempted intentional homicide on a person holding public authority”.

The PAF should have led them but the death of Garry Régis-Luce extinguished the action.

Just after the death of the homeless at 9 a.m., in a tweet, the Paris police headquarters had presented the situation as follows: “Showing coolness, the police neutralized this morning a threatening individual, in possession of a knife at Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport".

The Martiniquais had taken up residence for many months in the airport and in particular near gate 16 of terminal 2F.

He was buried last Monday, in Rivière-Salée, a town in the southwest of Martinique.
