Consultations between rural elected officials and prefects are to be held in September to decide on the locations of the future gendarmerie brigades, the first of which should see the light of day in early 2023. Of the 11 mobile force units, six will remain "permanently" in Lille, Lyon, Montpellier, Perpignan, Nice and Marseille - where two are already positioned -, Gérald Darmanin had specified in the Sunday newspaper at the end of August.
