Damascus-SANA
The Arab Cultural Center in Abu Rummaneh hosted a musical evening, during which the audience heard a combination of Al-Qudud Al-Halabi and songs from the good time presented by singers Sherif Al-Agha and Jihan Al-Amir, accompanied by musician Bassam Al-Tabbaa.
The evening, which lasted about an hour and a half, began with the sound of Bayat, composed by the Syrian artist Sami Al-Shawa.
Al-Tabbaa told SANA reporter that his choice of this piece came because it is one of the ancient Syrian musical heritage from the shrine of al-Bayat, stressing the necessity of reviving such songs so that they remain present in the minds of the young generation.
Singer Jihan Al-Amir presented a bouquet of beautiful time songs by great singers and songs from Syrian folklore, while singer Sherif Al-Agha entertained the audience with a combination of Al-Qudud Al-Halabi and rap songs.
Bassam Al-Ayoubi, the supervisor of the evening, considered that the goal is to focus on the traditional songs that are absent from the minds of many of the new generation, pointing to the necessity of mixing the younger generations with the veterans in order to give them experience in singing and performance.
