After a trip with a tour group: dead bus driver recovered from Regnitz – circumstances are puzzling

A tour group from Thuringia visited Bamberg.
But the trip ended in tragedy: the bus driver was found dead in the Regnitz.
Bamberg – On Friday, September 2nd, a tour group from Thuringia was in Bamberg.
They were driven by a 73-year-old bus driver.
After the group had explored Bamberg and the surrounding area during the day, they returned to the bus for the journey home.
But the bus driver never showed up.

When the bus driver still didn't show up, the tour group went in search of him.
According to the police press release, they found him around 3 p.m. near the concert hall.
The 73-year-old was lifeless in the water of the Regnitz.
After the bus driver had been rescued from the river, the emergency doctor who was called could only determine the death of the man from the neighboring state of Thuringia.

In the meantime, the Bamberg criminal police have taken over the investigation in the case, according to the police report.
According to current knowledge, there is no evidence of third-party negligence, according to the officials.
A forensic examination is now pending: It is intended to clarify the circumstances of the mysterious death.
The police are also asking the public for help.
Witnesses who have seen the 73-year-old or who can provide other relevant information about the incident are asked to contact the Bamberg criminal police.
