Critics and supporters of Castillo clash over Paredes hearing 3:51
(CNN Spanish) --
In a meeting with Peruvian municipal workers and workers, in the Government Palace, President Pedro Castillo referred to the investigations that the National Prosecutor's Office has opened for which this Monday, September 5, he is summoned to the office of the head of the Public Ministry, Patricia Benavides.
In the Patio of Honor of the Government Palace and before the municipal employees, Castillo pointed out that: “Now, what are we doing, when we are calling one of the ministers, the other minister, our premier, coordinating with the authorities to carry out this country, we have to be summoned elsewhere to go and declare things that are manufactured, comic strips, stories, and that is why they are not going to distract us because we have come here to vindicate the country and allocate the budget to move this country forward and give to the most needy”.
Audit Commission of the Peruvian Congress will investigate alleged "criminal organization in the Government Palace"
In the video, attendees can be heard chanting “closing of Congress.”
On Friday morning, Castillo went together with the first lady, Lilia Paredes, to the port of Callao for the launching of the ship "Pelicano", which will be dedicated to the transport of fertilizer based on guano from the country's guano islands.
It was the first appearance of Lilia Paredes since this Sunday, her sister Yenifer was placed in preventive detention for 30 months while the Prosecutor's Office determines her responsibility for the alleged crimes of criminal organization, money laundering and aggravated collusion.
During that activity, in his order speech, the president addressed the first lady to tell her "Lilia, we have to be strong to move the country forward" and "hopefully it is true, that we have to sacrifice, we are here to put the chest for Peru”.
It should be noted that the first lady faces a request to prevent her from leaving the country by the Prosecutor's Office, since the Public Ministry considers her to be a member of a criminal organization entrenched in the State to obtain illegal benefits from the award of public works.
