A package of smoked salmon sold in 10 states is being recalled after a sample tested positive for listeria.
The recall concerns 4-ounce packages of Scottish smoked salmon from St. James Smokehouse that were sold between February and June 2022.
Affected products were distributed to stores in Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Washington State, Virginia and Wisconsin.

This includes Washington state Safeway stores, according to the FDA advisory.
Routine testing by the Washington State Department of Agriculture revealed the presence of listeria, which can cause a variety of symptoms, some of them fatal, in vulnerable populations.
No case of the disease has yet been reported that is related to the consumption of the product.

Consumers who have the product in their possession should
dispose of it immediately
or return it to the store for a full refund, according to the recall notice.
