The Minister of Internal Security, Amr Bar-Lev, commented on his Twitter account this evening (Saturday) about the incident at the illegal nature party in the north and backed up the police officers.

"The incident in which a policeman was forced to shoot in the air after he and his friends were violently attacked during a dispersal for an illegal party, is extremely serious," the minister wrote.

"Whoever raises his hand against a police officer while performing his duty will be severely punished, and the Israel Police will finish the justice with the violent rioters.

"I support the police officers who acted this morning to protect public peace and themselves."

During the morning hours near the settlement of Migdal, police were called to break up a nature party following a noise hazard.

Instead of dispersing quietly, some of the celebrants, some of whom today are drunk and under the influence of drugs, threw objects and stones at the police.

Four of the organizers of the party were detained for questioning and the amplification equipment that was there was confiscated.
