Based on information analysis and in-depth investigation, officers of the Wan Chai Police District Special Duty Team identified 2 women for allegedly renting a hotel room in Wan Chai for storing and packaging drugs, and then distributing drugs in the district.
During the anti-drug operation yesterday (2nd) night, the detectives successfully intercepted a drug transaction, and immediately arrested 2 33-year-old Filipino women with Hong Kong identity cards on suspicion of "drug trafficking" and "overstaying". "Hidden Drugs" arrested a 23-year-old British man who entered the country with a passport.
Later, the detectives also seized drugs with a market value of about 100,000 yuan in the hotel room rented by the two arrested Filipino women, including about 233 grams of suspected marijuana flowers and about 107 grams that were put into tea bags as disguise. Suspected cannabis essence, 30 packets of suspected cannabis candy, 3 suspected cannabis oil, about 5 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 60 suspected "ecstasy pills", 38 suspected "drug stamps", a batch of drug packaging tools, and about 10,000 yuan in cash .
Police said all those arrested are being detained for investigation, and more arrests cannot be ruled out.
The police reiterate that trafficking in dangerous drugs is a serious crime. According to the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, Chapter 134 of the Laws of Hong Kong, upon conviction, the maximum penalty is a fine of HK$5 million and life imprisonment. Members of the public should not try the law.
