"Kissing now?": Peter Maffay meets old acquaintance after 33 years on "The Voice of Germany"

Peter Maffay is currently one of the coaches of "The Voice of Germany".

In the show he was surprised by a former companion: he sang a duet with Franziska 33 years ago.

Berlin – Peter Maffay (73) has been one of the coaches since August 18, 2022 in the new season of “The Voice of Germany”.

Next to Mark Forster, Rea Garvey and Stefanie Kloß, he buzzes around the best talents on his rotating chair.

When Franziska Kleinert (53) performs "barefoot on the piano", Peter Maffay is enthusiastic, even if he doesn't recognize her immediately: the singer and the candidate have actually known each other for 33 years.

When Peter Maffay's chair turned around, he asked: "What's your name and where are you from?".

The singer replied with a pause: "Peter.

My name is Franziska.” Maffay asked further: “Franziska?” – and Stefanie Kloß also noticed that there was something in the air: “Did you hear crackling?” She asked, puzzled.

"No, maybe it's ringing, 30 years back...", Franziska offered to help.

Peter Maffay apparently remembered that, jumped out of his chair and went to the blonde without a word with a smile on his face, took her in his arms.

Franziska clarified the situation after the two musicians laughed and held each other in their arms.

"Well, 33 years ago actually, we once sang a duet together.

I was allowed to sing a duet with Peter Maffay, it said, 'Let yourself go'. Then I left and now I'm back," said the "The Voice" candidate.

Mark Forster then tried to get the singer to join his team with a performance on the piano.

But of course the decision was made long ago: Franziska will be part of the Peter Maffay team.

Peter Maffay and the women: He has already been married four times:

• Maffay has been happy with his girlfriend Hendrikje since 2015, they have a daughter together.

• Maffay was first married to Petra K. in 1975, and it lasted four years.

• In 1981, the rock musician remarried, Chris H. They adopted a daughter together.

  The marriage lasted five years.

• In 1990, Peter Maffay married promotion agent Michaela H., with whom he remained together for nine years.

• In 2003, the "Tabalgua" singer married for the last time to Tania, with whom he also has a son.

  In 2015, the two separated.
