Anger in Likud: Amsalem deliberately harms our state line Israel today

Internal tensions in Likud are clouding the messages that the opposition leader, Benjamin Netanyahu, wants to put out to the public as part of the election campaign. This time it is an attempt to restrain MK Dodi Amsalem, who leads an aggressive line, as opposed to the state one that Netanyahu wants to broadcast.

Last week Amsalem brutally broke through the Likud campaign's statist wall.

In the party, they are trying to lead a moderate line as part of the battle for the two or three mandates they want to win from the public known as the "soft right".

Amsalem, Likud seniors claim, is intentionally harming the campaign because he is angry with Netanyahu after he disavowed his words that did not invalidate the entry of Mansour Abbas into the Likud-led government.

In an interview last week on Channel 13, Amsalem spoke out against the justice system and even gave an ultimatum to Netanyahu, according to which if he is not appointed Minister of Justice he will not enter the government.

Amsalem attacked the former legal adviser Avichai Mandelblit, the former police commissioner Roni Elshich and the former state attorney Shai Nitzan, and claimed that the three "should sit in prison." Last week, several senior officials, including Netanyahu's chief of staff, Tzachi Braverman, tried to talk to Amsalem and reassure him.
