A Porsche driver had more than two per thousand when he got into his car on Saturday night (September 3rd) in the commuter car park near Weyarn and sped away on the autobahn heading south.

Witnesses alerted the police, who stopped the 48-year-old near Irschenberg.

Weyarn

- How many drivers he endangered and how often dangerous situations occurred is still the subject of investigations.

It is clear that a 48-year-old man from the district of Rosenheim got into his Porsche in the night from Friday to Saturday (September 2nd/3rd), heavily intoxicated, and drove several kilometers south on the Salzburg autobahn.

Fortunately, according to current knowledge, there were no accidents.

According to the Holzkirchen motorway police, attentive witnesses observed how the man in the Weyarn commuter car park area made preparations at around 3.15 a.m. to get behind the wheel of a gray Porsche Cayenne despite his obvious drunkenness.

The 48-year-old from the district of Rosenheim did not let the witnesses stop him from continuing his journey and drove his Porsche onto the autobahn in the direction of Salzburg.

The witnesses then informed the police.

An immediately initiated search with several police patrols from departments in the region finally led to success.

The 48-year-old German was stopped shortly after the Irschenberg.

The officials found a breath alcohol level of over two per thousand.

A blood test was then ordered from the man, and he had to hand in his driver's license on site.

The Porsche driver will now have to answer for the criminal offense of "drunk driving".

He must expect a fine of at least 500 euros and a driving ban of at least one month.

It is still unclear whether the man endangered other road users.

The Holzkirchen motorway police is asking witnesses who noticed a gray Porsche Cayenne with Wiesbaden registration "WI" with a conspicuous driving style around 3 a.m. to 3.30 a.m. in the area between Weyarn and Bad Aibling on the motorway or who were even endangered by his driving style to report.

In addition, the police (telephone 08024/9073-0) would also like to speak to the witnesses who wanted to prevent the man from continuing his journey in Weyarn.

By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Holzkirchen newsletter.
