Princess Diana's secret lover unpacks: "We met every two weeks"

While Prince Charles was meeting his lover Camilla, Diana sought refuge with another man.
She is said to have had an affair with James Hewitt for five years.
The princess' ex-lover makes no secret of their relationship.
London – The whole world watched when heir to the throne Charles (73) gave the yes word to young Lady Diana Spencer (36, † 1997) on July 29, 1981 in London.
The wedding of the two was celebrated on a large scale, but the pompous celebration was not followed by a picture book marriage.
Both Charles and Diana sought their happiness in love with other partners.

Almost a year after the wedding, Prince Charles and Princess Diana's first son William (40) was born, and in 1984 Prince Harry (37) was born.

In 1986, the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II (96), according to "People", turned to Camilla Parker Bowles again, whom he met in 1970 and is also married.
James Hewitt met Princess at a party in 1986, and their affair is said to have started shortly thereafter.

In the same year, Princess Diana is said to have had an extramarital affair with her riding instructor James Hewitt (64), who apparently had no idea about the state of her marriage.
"I didn't know that she was unhappily married," Hewitt revealed in an interview with "RTL".
Charles and Diana: After 15 years of marriage, their relationship breaks up
On February 3, 1981, Prince Charles proposed to the then 19-year-old Diana, and about seven months later the two finally walked down the aisle of Westminster Abbey in London.
In front of 3,500 invited guests, they swear eternal loyalty, but the couple is not granted a happy ending.
Charles' longtime affair with Camilla Parker Bowles and Diana's infidelities lead to their split, which is announced on December 9, 1992.
Finally, on August 28, 1996, they divorced.

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Diana's death on August 31, 2022, the Brit gives an insight into the five-year relationship.
Every week or two they would have met in Kensington Palace, for example.
“Everything was open, including our communication on the phone.
It was dangerous, actually stupid and naive,” Hewitt recalls.

James Hewitt has not forgotten his ex-lover to this day.
"I still love her," he makes clear to "RTL" – Royal fans around the world feel the same way.
The legacy of the Queen of Hearts has not faded 25 years after her tragic accidental death, her daughter-in-law Meghan Markle (41) is apparently still trying to follow in Diana's footsteps.
