The Philippines enjoy a tropical maritime climate, characterized by relatively high temperatures and high humidity.

The distribution of precipitation varies from region to region, depending on the direction of the winds and the location of the mountains.

The country has two main seasons: the rainy season, from June to November;

and the dry season, from December to May.

The latter can be subdivided into the cool dry season, from December to February, and the hot dry season, from March to May.

When to go to Manila and the island of Luzon in the Philippines?

A cosmopolitan city, Manila embodies a blend of urban sophistication and eccentric vibrancy.

This is partly due to the fusion of Chinese and Spanish cultural influences, which manifest themselves through the well-preserved colorful buildings, temples, churches that are best visited during the dry season, when the mercury hovers between 26°C and 30°C.

Located north of the capital, Vigan is the oldest Spanish colonial city in the Philippines.

Here you will see beautifully preserved stone houses, a 16th century cathedral and the Padre Burgos Museum, housed in an 18th century house.

Five of the island's rice terraces are UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including Banaue, Batad and Mayoyao.

A group of small islands in the heart of the Philippines, the Visayas are surrounded by thriving reefs where sea turtles, lionfish and harmless white tip sharks live side by side.

The dry season in Bohol begins in December and ends in May, with April having the lowest chance of rainfall.

These months are perfect for scuba diving and snorkeling but also for discovering the Chocolate Hills of Bohol, one of the most emblematic landscapes of the country.

These 1,268 cones and domes are covered in grass that turns cocoa brown during the dry season.

The island of Boracay is popular for its white sand beaches bordered by azure waters whose temperature is around 29°C throughout the year.

Cebu, the oldest city in the Philippines,

is the main gateway to other destinations in the Visayas.

Renowned for its cultural sites, it is home to one of Asia's biggest festivals, the Sinulog Festival, held every third Sunday of January.

When is the best time to go to Palawan in the Philippines?

To the south, the island of Palawan looks like paradise lost with its tropical forest, clear waters and fine sandy beaches.
