A Reddit user shows his deposit receipt at Edeka – and it has it all: the customer received almost 50 euros for almost 200 cans given away.

Neuburg an der Donau – With well endowed deposit vouchers, many a purchase can be embellished.

With a good mix of cans and returnable bottles, up to ten euros can easily come together – money that you have already spent and only get back, but which at the same time feels a bit like a small gift.

However, the deposit voucher that Reddit user Pixelside posted on the social platform is anything but a “small” gift.

Reddit user shows crazy deposit: almost 50 euros for more than 190 cans

On Wednesday, August 31, a Reddit user named Pixelside posted a photo of his most recent deposit receipt.

And it has it all: the value of the voucher is 47.75 euros.

The user handed in 191 cans, declared on the receipt as a one-way deposit and usually the only type of deposit worth 25 cents each, at an Edeka branch in Neuburg an der Donau (Neuburg-Schrobenhausen district).

"Today is a good day" writes the user about the post.

Of course, it remains unclear how the user got hold of this amount of deposit cans.

Given the sheer volume, it seems unlikely that they accumulated as a result of private consumption.

It is more likely that he collected the cans - or works in a catering trade, where such quantities of empties are not unusual.

47.75 euros – that's how much Reddit user Pixelside received for his deposit at an Edeka branch in Neuburg an der Donau.

Reddit user regularly posts photos of impressive deposit receipts

It's also not the first photo of a high-value deposit that user Pixelside shared with the Reddit community in the "deposit" sub.

About a month ago, he presented a similar deposit voucher that can even be redeemed for 48.50 euros.

And that's still far from breaking the previous record - at least in this Reddit feed: At the beginning of 2022, a user posted an Edeka bill showing a deposit of 245.71 euros.

It was definitely a "good day".
