The Criminal Security Department arrested several people illegally dealing in other than the Syrian pound and money transfers.
The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement, which SANA received a copy of today, that in the context of following up and prosecuting people who deal in other than the Syrian pound, the Criminal Security Department arrested several people from offices and companies’ owners for having dealt with other than the Syrian pound and illegally remittances.
The ministry indicated that sums of money in different currencies were confiscated, including 300 million Syrian pounds, 26,100 US dollars, 13,200 euros, 2,800 riyals, 2,000 dirhams, and 1,000 dinars.
The ministry pointed out that investigations are underway to arrest the rest of those involved, and the necessary seizures have been organized, and those arrested will be duly presented to the judiciary.
