President Emmanuel Macron meets Monday, September 5 at the end of the afternoon with the presidents of the main associations of elected officials who contest that the National Council for Refoundation (CNR) is "
the suitable format
" for dialogue with communities.
The president of the Association of Mayors of France (AMF) David Lisnard (LR), that of Regions of France Carole Delga (PS) and that of the Assembly of Departments of France (AdF) François Sauvadet (UDI) go to the Élysée under the banner of "
United Territories
", an organization which brings together the three associations, they said in a press release.
According to them, "
the President of the Republic acceded to their request (...) for a dedicated and direct dialogue approach
" by organizing this meeting before the launch Thursday in Marcoussis (Essonne) of the CNR, supposed to bring together all the actors audiences around a few major themes for long-term reflection.

United Territories welcomes the response given by the Élysée to its proposal to work in depth with local elected officials to respond to the concerns of our fellow citizens
", underlines the press release.

According to Emmanuel Macron's entourage, "
the president will listen, dialogue and with a view to reaching out
" to discuss the issues of the CNR.
In a press release released on Friday, the three associations considered that the CNR framework “
did not seem appropriate to them to discuss the issues falling within the competences of our communities
”.

It is through a dedicated and direct dialogue between the representatives of the communities, the Executive and the Parliament, that these questions which affect the daily life of the French and engage the future of the country must be addressed
", they had underlined.
