Discounter wants to lure customers with "stone oven pizza Oktoberfest" - user is piqued

Some Munich residents might not like the net offer for the Oktoberfest.

The Oktoberfest is getting closer, the anticipation is growing.

A Oktoberfest offer from Netto could probably displease real Munich residents.

Munich – beer price, Corona and Co.: The Oktoberfest 2022 caused a lot of conversation several weeks in advance.

Last but not least, the plain text of Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder sparked a discussion on Twitter.

After two years, the Munich Wiesn is taking place again: many people already have their dirndls and lederhosen ready, and the anticipation is great.

Ride rides, sit in the marquee and eat Bavarian food and drink beer: people from all over the world come to Munich for this.

No wonder that the discounters also want to benefit from the hype surrounding Bavarian traditions at this time.

A special net offer for the Wiesn will probably be a real killer for true Bavarians.

Net offer for the Oktoberfest: Wiesn-Pizza horrifies users – "What the hell"

In the brochure of the discounter from September 5th there is a double page with offers for the Wiesn.

With gingerbread hearts, pretzels and mustard, there seems to be something for those who are not experiencing the Oktoberfest 2022 live on site.

Netto titled the double page as “beer tent fun for at home”.

However, two Twitter users did not miss a special offer.

"The latest invention, now at Netto," wrote a user and posted a photo of a brochure clipping.

"Oktoberfest stone oven pizza with white sausage slices," he added.

As can be seen from the picture, the pizza topping does not only consist of white sausage slices.

There are also onions, chives and Edam, for example.

The user then left the special culinary offer uncommented.

Another user seemed appalled and amused at the same time.

He described the product with the words "What the hell" and a laughing emoji.

Real Bavarians will be appalled: the Oktoberfest offer is nothing new

A culinary mistake?

For many Munich and Bavarians that will probably be certain.

After all, it's not the first time a discounter has made this offer.

In 2021, a Lidl customer in Munich was also outraged by a pizza with white sausage slices.

Another could hardly believe his eyes in 2020 and wrote: "As a Munich resident, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry".

That's probably how some people feel when they see the Oktoberfest offer from Netto.
