In Mexico, the Chamber of Deputies approved the initiative to reform the law that would give the Ministry of Defense control of the National Guard.
A controversial proposal by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who thanked the deputies for their approval;
the discussion of this reform now passed to the Senate.
Legislators Juan Ramiro Robledo Ruiz, from the ruling Morena party, and Felipe Macías Olvera, from the opposition National Action Party, are analyzing this proposal.
