A mobile house from 105 euros?

The city of Kassel is currently submitting an unusual offer for a gigantic vehicle.

Kassel – The public order office of the city of Kassel regularly ends up with vehicles and trailers that are not removed from the public road by the owner despite repeated requests from the authorities.

Most of the time they have been parked there illegally for weeks or even months.

If the owner doesn't respond, the vehicles will eventually be confiscated and sold.

A very unusual model is now going under the hammer.

What's going on there?

"We've never had anything like this," says Claudia Fischer from the regulatory office.

She means the 12 meter long mobile house on wheels that is currently on the city cleaning site.

Such rolling houses are otherwise only known from the trailer parks in America.

In this case, the manufacturer is Cosalt Holiday Homes from England.

However, the city knows nothing about the further history and the year of construction.

The public order office discovered the gigantic vehicle in mid-January in the parking lot at the sports facility on Kassel's Mittelfeldstrasse.

Because the single-axle vehicle was no longer registered, the city asked the owner to remove it, as reported by hna.de.

Kassel: The sale of a twelve-meter-long mobile house is unsuccessful

"The owner put it there because he wanted to sell it," says Fischer.

On the Internet, the regulatory office came across an advertisement for sale.

The man wanted 2,500 euros for the mobile house, which has a living room, three bedrooms, a shower and a toilet and is heated with gas.

His attempt to sell was unsuccessful.

Insight: This is what the living room looks like in the mobile home, which also houses three bedrooms.

After the owner failed to take care of the removal of the mobile home despite repeated telephone and personal conversations, the city had it hoisted onto a low-loader with two forklifts in mid-February and taken to the city cleaners' premises.

It's been there ever since.

Kassel: Selling a twelve-meter-long mobile house starts at 105 euros

Because the owner hasn't picked it up again since then - he would have to pay for the costs of removal, safekeeping and administration - it is now being sold to the highest bidder.

105 euros is the minimum bid.

The public order office offers a tour of the mobile home in advance.

In the case of private sale, interested parties can send their offers in writing to the public order office until September 3rd.

“On September 5th we open the sealed envelopes.

The highest bidder acquires the vehicle,” says Fischer.

However, the offers made are binding.

The proceeds of the sale will be deducted from the high costs of removing the vehicle.

The remaining amount, which will certainly be high despite the proceeds, will then be billed to the old owner.
