The 5-year-old boy was found dead at his home in Shenzhen last Saturday (3rd). The boy had multiple old and new wounds on his body. After his pregnant mother called the police for help, he once attempted suicide and was rescued. He was later arrested and charged with one count of murder.
The case will appear in the West Kowloon Court today (5th). The defendant does not need to answer for the time being. The hearing will be adjourned to November 28, pending further investigation by the police.
During the period, the defendant was still waiting at the Xiaolan Psychiatric Center.
The defendant, Lai Shing Di (33 years old, unemployed), was charged with the murder of a boy Lai Yiming in a unit in Sham Shui Po on September 2 this year.
