Another fatal mountain accident in Mittenwald: a hiker slips and falls 200 meters down

A tragic mountain accident occurred in Mittenwald.
A hiker slipped on the high trail and fell 200 meters.
He died on the spot.
Mittenwald – A fatal mountain accident occurred on the Höhenweg in Mittenwald on Monday morning, September 5th.
A 65-year-old man lost his life.
It is already the third fatal mountain accident that has occurred in the Bavarian municipality of Mittenwald within a short period of time.

According to the police press release, the 65-year-old walked the Mittenwalder Höhenweg with his 42-year-old companion.
The accident happened shortly after 12:30: The 65-year-old slipped and fell shortly after the southern Linderspitze.
According to the police, he fell about 200 meters over steep "rocky and grassy terrain".
At the crash site, the climb runs on a grade and is unsecured in sections due to the easier terrain.
The rescue helicopter Christopherus I arrived from Innsbruck, and there was an emergency doctor on board.
However, he could do nothing more for the 65-year-old on site – he died at the crash site.
The emergency doctor could only determine the death of the man.

Four dead climbers in Mittenwald
Like his companion, the climber who died in the accident came from Abensberg.
The body has now been recovered by a police mountain guide from the Garmisch-Partenkirchen alpine task force in cooperation with the Mittenwald mountain rescue service.
In mid-August, a mountaineer from Munich died in a fatal accident in Mittenwald.
And at the beginning of June, two young climbers fell to their deaths on the Tiefkarspitze.
