BMW crashes into tree: man (33) dies on B 13 – cause still unclear

A 33-year-old from Bad Tölzer died on the B 13 near Kurzenberg after he left the road with his BMW X 5 and crashed into a tree
Holzkirchen – A 33-year-old from Bad Tölz died on Monday evening on the B 13 near Kurzenberg after he left the road with his BMW X 5 for reasons unknown and crashed into a tree.
According to the police, the man was driving towards Bad Tölz at 9:56 p.m. when he left the lane on the Leitner Gasteig in a left turn to the right.
He countersteered, left the road and drove a good ten meters up an embankment.
There the BMW overturned and collided with the roof first with a tree.
The driver died at the scene from his injuries.

The Holzkirchen, Hartpenning, Sachsenkam and Piesenkam fire brigades responded to the accident with 75 men.
They cut off the roof of the X 5 with scissors and a spreader, reports head of operations Lukas Reichhart, second commander of the Hartpenning fire brigade: "It was a difficult rescue."
The B 13 remained closed from 10 p.m. to 1.30 a.m. during the rescue.
An expert examined the scene of the accident, and the towing service recovered the BMW.
The police estimate the property damage at 24,000 euros.
