Dr. Buthaina Shaaban, Special Adviser to the Presidency of the Republic, discussed today with the delegation of the Venice Association for Italian-Arab Friendship ways to enhance cooperation and cultural exchange between the two countries.

Members of the delegation, headed by Engineer Paolo Casillo, President of the Society, presented a set of cultural projects aimed at building bridges of knowledge and re-weaving relations between the two countries through culture, including a joint cultural project for children based on stimulating reading through the issuance of a picture book for them in Arabic and Italian, in addition to activities aimed at To convey a message to the world about the ability of the Syrian people to preserve their national identity.

Dr. Shaaban emphasized that Syria is the best example of coexistence, and that the project of demolishing civilizations and cultures that the West is working on does not target Syria alone, but all countries of the world so that the Western capitalist culture and the culture of consumption remain the only dominant and ruling culture.

Dr. Shaaban said that Western capitalism targeted the humanity of man, and today it has become necessary for all the peoples of the world to combine efforts to reach a global system in which humanity is taken into consideration.

In a statement to SANA's reporter, Shaaban explained that at this stage in the history of Syria and the region and the crimes committed by the Israeli, American and Turkish occupation, culture is considered a very important window for communication with the countries of the world, noting that the West suffers from the effects of the capitalist system that imposes policies that do not represent the opinions of their people.

Dr. Shaaban stressed the importance of entering the world through films, drama, thought and books to explain the sacrifices Syria made in resisting terrorism and steadfastness during the terrorist war it is facing. She said Syria deserves to become an icon for the world in the struggle against the capitalist system that is destroying the identity of peoples.

Dr. Shaaban pointed out that the Syrian identity came from the historical coexistence of all sects, races and colors, which is the opposite of Zionism and what it is trying to impose on the region of ethnic and sectarian entities that do not represent the region’s civilization and history, stressing the importance of focusing on the issue of Syrian identity because the main objective of the global war on Syria Destruction of its identity, as the terrorists destroyed a list of archaeological and historical heritage sites and directly targeted them.

Dr. Shaaban pointed out that President Bashar al-Assad, by standing with his people, is like an independent decision, and this is what the West does not want.

For his part, Engineer Paolo Casillo explained that the association's work focuses on strengthening communication between peoples, stressing the importance of building a bridge between the Italian and Syrian peoples in the absence of the Italian government's role in this aspect.

Casillo pointed out that the association's future plan includes five cultural projects to be implemented in cooperation with civil organizations and Syrian government agencies concerned in this field.

The representative of the Angelico Costantiana Academy of Literature, Art and Sciences, Valentina Pichitelli, indicated that one of the projects that the association will work on is the “Aleppo Pine” project, which is a Syrian trip to museums located in the Mediterranean cities through the establishment of cultural events that reflect Syria and its reality and show its true face and shed light on cultural identity. for the Syrian people.

Writer and journalist Dr. Elenora Belletti pointed out that the goals of the projects carried out by the association are cultural and spiritual, working to constantly nourish the child's cultural spirit through a group of illustrated stories that contribute to the development of his awareness, while the journalist writer Zino Bianchi indicated that he seeks to make a video game that talks about Syria so that Children in Western countries can view it, expressing the hope that this will contribute to bypassing the sanctions imposed on Syria.

During the meeting, the Belgian writer Patrick Desart gave an overview of his book “The Cooperative Economic… A Society Without Capital”, where the idea of ​​the book is based on how to get out of the capitalist system and that money is not an actual system of the economy and an economy can be established without it, indicating that he was inspired by the idea of ​​the book from the Belgian economy, which is based on the cooperative economy.
