On August 26, investigators from the Lesparre-Médoc research brigade arrested a 19-year-old young man, suspected of being the cause of 31 fires during the summer in Gironde.
Passed to partial confessions, this student, volunteer firefighter in Soulac-sur-Mer, is prosecuted for "destruction by fire of wood, forests, moors, maquis or plantations of others which can cause damage to people".
He faces up to 15 years in prison.
