Mawred... A new youth experience within the Cinema Science Diploma

The Diploma in Film Sciences and Arts continues its activities for the seventh consecutive season by providing cinematic life and television production in Syria with qualified young energies to be the nucleus of a renewed art that draws attention to a wide range of diverse youth capabilities in this field.

As part of the diploma activities and in the course of practical exercises in directing by Professor Ayham Arsan, the student Baraa Al-Azhari presented his training project, embodied in a film entitled (Maward).

Director Ayham Arsan, who studies international film schools and practical exercises on directing in the diploma, told SANA Youth Bulletin: “Mawred simulates the process of time under the tide of ignorance and trembling masculinity in a time when the logic of love dried up in the chests of his family, and women were the first victims of it with a visual narrative, as Yum seeks to neutralize the paths of her daughter On the repetition of the hierarchical destinies in the realms of darkness, to be surrounded by history under the influence of reality.

He pointed out that the completion of these films is done in the form of a workshop, meaning that the students themselves take over the work in all specializations, one of them is a photographer, another is an assistant director, another is a editor, and so on.

The film is written and directed by Baraa Al-Azhari and starring Abeer Bitar, Youssef Abdi, Firas Al-Hark, Shahd Ghandour, and the children Lara Maqsoud, Zuhair Maqsoud and Lamita Khoury.

The Diploma in Cinematography and Arts, launched in 2015, comes within the projects directed to young people implemented by the General Film Organization and includes lectures in cinema over an entire academic season for eight months with the aim of establishing a higher academic cinematic study in Syria provided by experiences from the first cinematic class, where the amateur student is given knowledge and experience Through two perspectives, theoretical and practical

In the second of them, he completes a training movie, through which he translates his hypotheses and tests his knowledge, art and knowledge, which contributes to creating the appropriate conditions for talented people and owners of faculties and to work with them by providing the appropriate opportunities for them to express their talents and highlight their capabilities.
