According to the
German Nature Conservation Union (NABU)
, migratory birds native to Germany leave their breeding grounds in early autumn and move to warmer regions of southern Europe or Africa to find sufficient food there.
And that is a high number, because of the approximately 250 bird species in Germany, about half head south.
