Coated pans ensure that nothing sticks to the frying surface when frying.
At the Stiftung Warentest, only four received the grade “good”.

Whether it's meat, fish, pancakes or eggs: nothing is more annoying when frying than when the food sticks to the pan.
The remains are difficult to remove and the pan will then show permanent stains.
Coated pans are supposed to prevent this, but they don't always succeed. On the one hand, this can be due to incorrect handling - or it can also be due to the fact that the pan is simply not good.
Stiftung Warentest has tested numerous coated pans.
Only four received the test grade “good”.
We present the best pans further down in the article.
But first we explain what you should consider when frying with non-stick pans.
If you are looking for a more robust example, you should consider a cast iron pan.
How to fry properly with coated pans
What most cooks probably already know: Never use metal cutlery to turn the food in the pan.
This quickly creates scratches that impair the non-stick properties.
Plastic or wooden spatulas work better.
In addition, you should avoid frying on the highest level, otherwise the coating could blister and crack.
Another no-go is the use of aggressive cleaning agents or rough sponges when cleaning.
You should also always make sure that you do not hold the hot pan directly under cold water.
Another tip: when storing the pans, place a kitchen towel between them to prevent scratches.
Coated pans: endurance test at Stiftung Warentest
The Stiftung Warentest has simulated a use of three years and put the pans to a real endurance test.
To do this, they were filled with metal balls and coarse abrasives and shaken on a vibrating plate for 45 minutes.
After this extreme test, most of the specimens were still usable for many foods, but all of them lost their non-stick effect when it came to pancakes.
Only four of the pans tested were rated “good” by Stiftung Warentest.
In the following section we present them.
