The world's best beers: Bavarian breweries win at World Beer Awards 2022

Bavarian breweries are among the winners of this year's World's Best Beer Award.

Wheat beer, lager, IPA: At the World Beer Awards, the best beers are chosen in ten categories.
Some Bavarian breweries are among the winners.
Munich/London – The World Beer Awards take place in London every year.
A total of 3200 beers from 50 countries take part in the competition.
It is the "global awards that select the very best in all internationally recognized styles and reward and promote the world's best beers to consumers and retailers around the world," according to the organizer's website.
There are awards for the different varieties, as well as for the design.
Also this year some breweries from Bavaria were represented.
World Beer Awards 2022: Bavarian breweries as winners
There are the following categories for the taste winners: dark beer, wheat beer, lager, IPA, light beer, flavored beer, non-alcoholic beer, sour and wild beer, stout & porter and the best beer specialties.
One main winner will be awarded per category.
Then there are the so-called "style winners", i.e. the best beer in the world for the respective style.
a kind of subcategory.
A Bavarian brewery came out on top in the “World's best lager” category: the Celebrator Doppelbock from the Ayinger brewery.
Last year, the naturally cloudy cellar beer from Karlsberg won.
Two other Bavarian breweries also won in the lager subcategory.
The Anna Festbier from Greif Bräu received the title "the world's best seasonal Oktoberfest beer & Märzen" and the Mönchnshof Landbier was voted the "world's best Dortmunder".
But Bavaria's breweries were also represented in a number of other categories.

Bayreuth brewery "Maisel & Friends" wins "world's best hoppy wheat beer"
The "Maisel & Friends" brewery was able to win a "Style Winner" medal.
The "world's best hoppy wheat beer" thus comes from Bayreuth, and the beer Maisel & Friends Jeff's Bavarian Ale won the title.
The Weihenstephan brewery also won the title of “world's best crystal beer” in the wheat beer category with its Weihenstephaner Kristallweissbier beer.
According to the awards, the best dark wheat beer in the world is Ayinger Urweiss.
Franziskaner was also able to snag a “Style Winner” title with its non-alcoholic wheat beer.
The Veldensteiner Mandarina Bavaria creamed off the title of the "world's best American-style wheat beer".
No German brewery was represented in the categories IPA, sour and wild beer, stout & porter, light beer, flavored beers and the best beer specialties
