A dog without a muzzle, leash and mistress is on a train to Giessen on Monday evening.

The police are alerted.

Gießen – A fighting dog that ran through a track unsupervised and without a muzzle and leash triggered a police operation in Gießen late Monday evening (September 5th).

The federal police in Kassel said that several travelers who were traveling on the regional train towards the university town felt threatened by the animal.

The 33-year-old dog owner didn't notice "anything" about the excitement.

She slept during the train ride, according to the reports.

A train attendant finally alerted the federal police because of the free-running dog and when the train arrived at Gießen station, a police patrol was already waiting there, as reported by giessener-allgemeine.de.

The trouble continued on the track.

According to the police, the owner refused to leash the dog and put a muzzle on it.

She is also said to have insulted the officers and later hit a policewoman in the face with the palm of her hand at the police station.

A police officer finally put the dog on a muzzle and leash.

The attack dog was on the list of dangerous dog breeds, the federal police said.

She did not initially provide any further information about the animal.

Apparently, there were no attacks or even injuries from the free-running dog.

The police press office could not be reached by phone for questions.

Trouble at Gießen train station: dog owner was drunk

The dog owner was taken to a clinic because of her poor mental health.

She was also heavily intoxicated, police said.

A breath alcohol test showed a value of 1.91 per mille.

The policewoman who is said to have been beaten by her was not seriously injured and was able to continue on duty.

The federal police in Kassel have started investigations into the case.

There is a criminal case against the 33-year-old suspect.

She is accused, among other things, of assaulting law enforcement officials.

Anyone who can provide information about what happened on the train to Gießen can contact the investigators on Tel. 0561-816160.

The federal police are responsible for security at the train stations.

The next federal police station is in Kassel, but there is also a police station in Giessen.

The officials have missions here for a variety of reasons.

But they often have to deal with rioters - like in the spring when a man at Gießen train station converted an e-scooter into a weapon.
