In the event that the intake capacity of the Weidach sewage treatment plant is recalculated, Königsdorf has registered a need.

One wishes for more “population equivalents”.

Königsdorf

– Lorenz Demmel, Managing Director of the Wastewater Association Isar-Loisachgruppe, is considering recalculating the intake capacity of the Weidacher sewage treatment plant.

Construction and expansion measures are not required for this, confirms Demmel.

If his idea were approved, the population equivalent of the six members of the association - the cities of Wolfratshausen and Geretsried and the communities of Königsdorf, Icking, Egling and Dietramszell - could increase.

Everything is still just theory.

"There is no association decision," emphasizes Demmel.

In addition, according to the manager, all the specialist authorities, headed by the water management office in Weilheim, "should be able to follow my calculations" and give their blessing.

In order to be able to get involved in a planning and approval process at all, Demmel needs the willingness of the association members to agree to an increase in the equivalent values.

Königsdorf's municipal councils had a corresponding proposal for a resolution at the most recent meeting.

For Demmel “a bit too early.

Königsdorf has pushed ahead a little”.

Nothing is ready to say yet.

"It is, so to speak, a decision for a preliminary inquiry."

Nevertheless, the council voted to increase the population equivalent for Königsdorf from the previous 5,000 to 6,000.

"We've had the equivalent of 5,000 for around 30 years," says Mayor Rainer Kopnicky when asked.

“Even if we strive for a moderate development of our village, we have to think in the longer term.

So why shouldn't we secure more population equivalents now?” The municipal council sees this as an investment in the future.

In addition, one must take into account the recent connection of the district of Schwaighofen to the Weidach sewage treatment plant.

"As a result, a few additional population equivalents have arisen," says the head of the town hall.

Current news from Königsdorf can be found here.

If the idea of the sewage treatment plant manager found the approval of the authorities, the people in Königsdorf could send 720 instead of 600 kilos of COD dirt freight to Weidach every day.

The COD value stands for Chemical Oxygen Demand and indicates how much oxygen is required to oxidize almost all organic compounds.

With the increase in population equivalents, Königsdorf's share of the sewage treatment plant would also increase from 4.17 to 4.76 percent.

Kopnicky: “Our share of the investment and maintenance costs as well as the debt service allocation and fixed assets will change accordingly.”
