The CSU quoted Markus Söder, who sang a song of praise for Bavaria - an opportunity that the comedian Micky Beisenherz did not miss.

Munich – Things really got down to business at the traditional political early morning shopping at the Gillamoos folk festival in Abensberg, Bavaria.

For Hubert Aiwanger, Deputy Prime Minister of Bavaria and Economics Minister (Free Voters), the Winnetou issue was still very present.

On Twitter, the CSU quoted Söder as praising Bavaria – comedian Beisenherz used this for a dig.

On stage, he posed next to an actor dressed as Winnetou, before unleashing an outright Trump tirade on Twitter.

The official CSU account did not remain idle on the social platform either – and quoted a hymn of praise for Bavaria from Prime Minister Markus Söder.

Comedian Micky Beisenherz answered promptly.

Söder with a hymn of praise for Bavaria: Beisenherz answers

Söder had also made a name for himself in the Winnetou debate in recent weeks.

First he expressed his point of view by means of a retweet, then he followed up with his own - very clear - words.

The point of view of the CSU and the Free Voters thus clear.

On Monday, September 5th, the CSU account tweeted a Bayern statement from Söder.

In it he praises the Bavarian identity and tradition and promises, almost threateningly, that nobody will take that away from him or forbid it.

After Söder's controversial Winnetou statements in recent weeks, which also drew a lot of criticism, especially on Twitter, a comedian like Micky Beisenherz found food.

His answer to the CSU tweet was not long in coming.

Winnetou sarcasm by Beisenherz

On Tuesday, September 6, Beisenherz wrote in direct response to the CSU account's quote from Söder: "It's good that the interests of the indigenous people are defended so passionately here!" An allusion to the fact that Söder upholds and wants to defend Bavarian traditions , but the last few weeks have mainly been about Winnetou and the associated debate.

Possibly, with his sarcastic tweet, Beisenherz also accuses Söder of defending Bavarian culture, while at the same time ignoring the interests of indigenous culture, which, according to the accusation in the debate, suffers from racist clichés and cultural appropriation in the Winnetou children's books.

At least the Twitter community is celebrating the dig.

Micky Beisenherz's comment garnered over 1,000 likes – four times as many as the CSU's original tweet.
