75-year-old dies in distillery: woman seriously injured

A 75-year-old man died in his schnapps distillery in Neidlingen (Esslingen district) - his wife was seriously injured.
The police are currently assuming an accident.
It will be checked whether the fermentation gases produced during the operation of the distillery are the cause of the alleged accident.
Neidlingen – Firefighters found the two seniors on Wednesday afternoon in the basement of the house where the 75-year-old's distillery is located, the police said.
At this point, the two were already unresponsive.
Residents had alerted the police and reported that the man and his 74-year-old wife needed urgent medical attention.
For the 75-year-old, help came too late, and his wife was taken to a clinic by ambulance.
The police took up the investigation.
