Accor joins SHe Travel Club, the first international hotel label dedicated to the needs of female travelers

2022-09-07T13:30:08.872Z

One of the world leaders in hospitality and the only independent hotel label designed by women, for women, announces the signing of a partnership aimed at reinventing travel and hotel stays for them.

Valérie is a business woman who travels all over the world and she gets annoyed when the receptionist announces her room number in front of the other customers.

She also wants all rooms to have a peephole so she can check who is knocking on the door.

How do you know if it's really room service ringing the doorbell?

For her part, Jennifer attaches great importance to her diet.

Like many women, she does not feel comfortable having lunch alone in a restaurant, so she regularly uses room service but regrets not having the choice between club sandwiches, pizzas or pasta... As for Judith, a globetrotter who travels both alone for her business and with her family,

she would like hotels to offer in-room hair and nail services at the most convenient times, either early in the morning before a meeting or in the evening… All these testimonials from female travelers are concrete and consistent, unfortunately and so far , the hotel industry was designed by men for men.

Will this change?

Take into account the needs and expectations of women

Women make up 64% of international travelers worldwide and 52% of business travellers.

SHe Travel Club, a label created by Valérie Hoffenberg, aims to reinvent women's travel by offering solutions to hotel groups to better take into account their needs and expectations.

Women make up 64% of international travelers worldwide and 52% of business travellers, according to a SHe survey of 5,000 female participants in five regions of the world.

The study shows that they do not necessarily want to travel to hotels reserved exclusively for them.

Far from it.

On the other hand, they seem to be determined on what they would like to see changed since 85% of them consider that their needs are not fully satisfied by the hotel industry.

The survey thus made it possible to identify four key pillars: safety, comfort,

services and catering/entertainment.

Until everything is better in the best of all possible worlds, SHe Travel Club evaluates hotels according to these four aspirations to deliver three levels of certification (Silver, Gold and Platinum) adapted to all segments of the hotel industry.

This collaboration therefore represents a new step forward in ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all.

Maud Bailly, Managing Director Southern Europe and Co-President of RiiSE

Nearly 200 establishments have applied for the SHe Travel Club label in more than 25 countries, out of around thirty international and independent brands.

Some mythical hotels have joined the collection such as the Bristol Paris, the Royal Mansour in Marrakech, the Rosewood Guanahani St Barth, but also independents such as the Columbus Monte-Carlo, the Viceroy and Revivo in Bali, the Goralska or the Astotel in Paris… After four InterContinental Hotels & Resorts in France, 50 Accor hotels under the Sofitel, Novotel, MGallery and Mercure brands in Europe, Africa and the Middle East have been awarded the label.

For Maud Bailly, General Manager Southern Europe and Co-President of RiiSE, the Accor group's network for gender equality, diversity and inclusion:

“taking care of its guests is part of Accor's DNA;

this collaboration therefore represents a new step forward in guaranteeing a safe and inclusive environment, for all, within our ecosystem.

Welcoming, adapting and valuing differences are among the founding principles of our hotel ethic”

.

Patrick Mendes, Group Chief Commercial Officer, Accor, adds: “We are delighted to partner with SHe Travel Club and support their efforts to improve the experience of female travellers.

Accor is constantly striving to support avant-garde players who are developing solutions that redefine the hotel business model and who offer tailor-made guest experiences.

When will an emergency kit be mandatory in all hotels including sanitary protection, nail polish or make-up remover?
