The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Donetsk People's Republic, Natalia Nikonorova, announced the suspension of the activities of the Special Committee for the Recording and Collection of Evidence of War Crimes of the Ukrainian Government in the Donbass soon.
Russia Today website quoted Nikonorova as saying: “The activities of the Special Committee for Recording and Collecting Evidence of War Crimes of the Ukrainian Government in Donbass will soon be halted,” noting that this will take place within the framework of reorganizing the Joint Center for Monitoring and Coordination of Ceasefire Issues and Stabilizing the Line of Contact.
Nikonorova added that a complete database documenting Ukrainian war crimes with the names of witnesses and photos was collected and sent to the president's office for signature.
During its work in the past 6 years, the commission documented many Ukrainian war crimes in Donbass, which resulted in thousands of deaths and injuries among civilians and children, hundreds of prisoners, and the destruction of thousands of buildings and public facilities.
