The new British Prime Minister Liz Truss entered the official residence in Downing 10 yesterday (Tuesday) and within moments began the task of assembling a new cabinet.

She ignored calls to appoint a unity cabinet to unify the Conservative Party, and fired all senior figures who supported rival Rishi Sunak, including Dominic Raab, Grant Shepps, Steve Barclay and George Eustis.

Sunak himself ruled out the possibility of serving in the new government.

Some of the ministers in the previous government resigned yesterday, including Home Minister Priti Patel.

In their place, Terras appointed her loyalists, including Ben Wallace, who will continue to serve as Secretary of Defense;

Brandon Lewis was appointed Minister of Justice;

Kwazi Kwarteng was appointed Minister of Finance;

James Calverly to the Secretary of State;

And Suala Barberman to the Minister of the Interior.

Culture Minister Nadine Dorries resigned from her position and Michelle Donlan was appointed in her place.

Anne Marie Trevelyan was appointed Minister of Transport and Ranil Jayawardena was appointed Minister of the Environment.

One of Terras's best friends, Theresa Coffey, was appointed Minister of Health and Deputy Prime Minister.

The new cabinet is expected to convene today.

The spokeswoman for Truss said in response that the changes will "unify" the Conservative Party.

She mentioned the senior positions that five of her rivals in the primaries received in the new cabinet: Suala Barberman, Tom Tugendhat appointed as Minister of Defense, Kami Badenoch appointed as Minister of Commerce, Penny Mordant who is the leader of the House of Representatives, and Ndhim Zahvi appointed as Minister of Finance of the Duchy of Lancaster.

Conservative MPs and green activists are now worried about new business secretary Jacob Rees-Mogg, who has previously criticized "climate alarmism" (excessive panic-mongering in response to climate change).

Rees-Mogg is now directly responsible for the issue of climate change and energy.

Alok Sharma has been appointed chairman of Cop26, the UN climate change conference.

The task now is to win the support of Conservative MPs, on whom she needs to rely to pass her energy package in the lower house.

Yesterday she told MPs, aides and reporters that "we must not shy away from the challenges we face, however difficult the storm. I know the British people are stronger.

"Our country was built by people who can get the job done.

We have vast reserves of talent, energy and determination.

I am sure that together we will survive the storm."

The British government is preparing to distribute £400 to all households in the autumn.

The new prime minister also intends to freeze wholesale gas prices in order to help thousands of small businesses that are on the verge of collapse.

The package is expected to cost about 100 billion pounds. The government intends to obtain the money through loans and easing the fiscal policy.
