Despite the attempt to disrupt an exercise: the IDF refused to complain, and it was decided to close the case • The police claim: "There is no evidentiary basis for a criminal charge"

Even though they were recorded interfering with a military exercise on Mount Hebron - extreme left-wing activists will not be prosecuted because the IDF refused to complain. Israel Hayom learned this.

In June, a "wet" military exercise took place in the Hebron mountain fire areas, in an area known by the IDF as Fire Area 918 and by the Palestinians as "Masafar Yatta". Most of the residents there received evacuation orders back in 1999 due to illegal residence, but the Palestinians continue to live there.

Furthermore, a few months ago the High Court approved the deportation of a thousand Palestinian residents from the area.

Extreme leftists and Arab rioters block armored vehicles and stop a war exercise.

They even dare to attack soldiers and no one is arrested.

These provocations harm the security of the country and the IDF's readiness for war, and the fighters have no tools to deal with them.

Against this background, extreme left-wing activists arrived at the fire ground during the exercise to harm the training.

In the documentation published in Israel Hayom, the activists were seen actively disturbing the soldiers, and the latter were forced to carry them outside to continue training.

The "Lavi" organization filed a complaint with the police against the left-wing activists, based on the news that was published.

According to them, "the suspects penetrated without coordination into the area of fire while the IDF was holding exercises there, which included maneuvering foot and mounted forces while carrying out massive shooting.

The penetration was done on purpose, striving to make contact with the forces disrupting the exercise.

The suspects did not comply with the forces' demand to leave the place immediately, and the forces had to stop the exercise and evacuate them.

During the evacuation, some of the suspects attacked the soldiers."

The organization mentioned the names of five activists who were recorded in the video alongside another activist who recorded the event.

Despite this, the police recently informed the Lavi organization that they intend to close the case and not prosecute the suspects.

The police said that "no evidentiary basis for the existence of criminal guilt was found."

Israel Hayom learned that the reason for closing the case is the army's refusal to submit the complaint, claiming that the incident is over and there is nothing that can be done about it.

"strange choice"

The Lavi organization stated: "The choice of the police to wait for a complaint from the IDF is strange and unacceptable.

Just as the police open an investigation against Jewish youths who enter a closed military area even without a complaint from the IDF, so they must act in this case as well without fear and without bias."

The police stated that "at the end of the examination of all the evidence from the described incident, it was decided to close the case."

An IDF spokesperson stated that "the forces cleared the violators, and the training continued as normal."
