A level 3 fire broke out in Kwai Chung.
At about 1:30 in the morning today (8th), it was reported that a car park near Container Terminal No. 1 and a warehouse converted from containers suddenly caught fire.
When the firefighters arrived at the scene, they found that the flames were soaring into the sky and the smoke was dense. The on-site supervisor decided to raise the fire alarm to level three to increase manpower resources to assist in the firefighting.
On-site news said that an employee was burned when he tried to put out the fire by himself. Fortunately, the injury was not serious. After being treated by the ambulance on the spot, he refused to be sent to the hospital.
Fire fighters dispatched two hosepipes and two smoke-cap teams to rescue, and ambulances were also on guard at the scene.
The Fire Services Department said that a fire broke out at Kwai Chung No. 1 Container Terminal today (8th) at 1:31 a.m. and was upgraded to level 3 at 1:41 a.m.
Firefighters are using two throats and two teams of smoke hats to fight.
If the public is affected by the smoke and odor wafting in the wind, they can close the doors and windows and keep calm.
