Manar Hajaj and her daughter Hadera, who were shot to death in Lod, are now (Wednesday) being laid to rest in the city's cemetery.

Hadera's twin sister, who survived the assassination, is absent from this funeral apparently due to fear for her life.

Hundreds of acquaintances, family and friends came to accompany her on her last journey.

Miriam Al-Hori, the mother and grandmother of the murdered women, said in an interview to 103FM that she does not know who tried to hurt them.

"The whole city loves Manar, we didn't do anything to anyone."

She also said that she met Miriam, her granddaughter who was rescued and is named after her.

"I said I wanted her in my house, and they told me, 'No, we have information that they want to kill her too. I said, 'Who?', they told me, 'They don't know.'"

She said that her granddaughter told her that she didn't see anything from the incident itself: "I fell and didn't see, she told me."

According to her, she knew that her mother and sister were no longer alive, "I told her: 'Don't cry, may God have mercy.'"

"I'm shocked, why all this?" Miriam said in an interview, "For who? Why? I don't know."

At the "Chicago" community center in Lod, where Hadera was active, a commemorative corner was placed in memory of 14-year-old Hadera and her 34-year-old mother. In the center, they told about a girl "whose bright smile we all enjoyed.

Her willingness to volunteer and initiate, a personality full of giving and respect, a good friend and a beloved personality, who was always quick to do good."

At a press conference held today by Commissioner Yaakov Shabtai, he said that the assassin who murdered the girls has become the number one wanted man. "Criminals who plan the murder of a mother and her two young daughters are criminals of the most despicable and cruel variety," he said.

"We understand quite a bit from the investigation of the incident so far .

This is an investigation that is today the top priority of the entire Israel Police and I mean it.

I suggest to anyone who thinks of committing such a barbaric and difficult act to think twice," he added. "The activity we conclude today is a winning answer to the law-abiding Arab citizens who wish to live here in peace and security."
