Under the title of literal poems, the Directorate of Culture in Aleppo inaugurated this evening the artist Khaldoun Al-Ahmad’s exhibition at Al-Khanji Art Gallery.
The solo exhibition included 40 artworks in which the artist adapted the alphabet to embody the beauty of the Arabic letter within the plastic work as a lyrical poem using oil colors.
Jaber Al-Sajour, Director of Culture in Aleppo, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the follower of Khaldoun Al-Ahmad’s work in the past years until today is witnessing the great development in his fine art movement, his formulation of letters and their adaptation to express concerns and issues he believes in. The artist Al-Ahmad pointed out that this is the eleventh exhibition that he holds and includes nearly 40 artworks of varying sizes between large, small and medium, in which he used oil colors only to embody the lyricism of the letter within the plastic work and adapt the letter to give it the aesthetics of the literal poem, stressing the importance of taking care of the Arabic letter and working with it to give it A plastic presence befitting its aesthetic composition.
Among the audience among the plastic artist Ibrahim Daoud is that the artist Al-Ahmad used the Arabic letter as a basic element inside the painting instead of drawing the woman, the man or the nature, so the works came as a decorative letter formation that speaks of the aesthetics of letter and color.
Plastic artist Ayman Al-Affandi, a lecturer at the College of Fine Arts, said: Khaldoun Al-Ahmad today in this exhibition made us see a wonderful artistic formation in which he mixed between color and Arabic letter to produce exquisite works and indicates radical changes in his works, where he used to work in a soft style and today in this exhibition He expanded and made the crafts larger, mixed with a beautiful artistic movement and worked on cutting, in other words, he entered the field of pure artwork.
