Today, the Junior Chamber International in Homs concluded the 1,000 doses challenge campaign, which it launched at the beginning of last June to collect the price of 1,000 doses for cancer patients in a diverse artistic concert in cooperation with the Directorate of Culture at the Culture Palace theater in Homs.

The campaign aims to participate in the fight against cancer and support patients psychologically and financially during their treatment journey.

The head of the Young International Chamber in Syria, Dr. Ammar Issa, indicated in a statement to SANA reporter that the campaign was able to achieve its goals of reaching the price of 1,000 doses, in addition to instilling the idea of ​​donating among segments of society through activities with children and emphasizing the issue of psychological support for patients.

In turn, the head of the Young International Chamber in Homs, Dr. Mulham Tabbaa, stated that the campaign lasted for four months and was filled with various activities and events to collect donations by distributing points within public places that included markets, cafes, restaurants and parks, and commercial, industrial and community events participated in it, pointing out that the disbursement of the price of doses and their diversion to patients is carried out in coordination with Syrian Cancer Society.

The campaign manager, Dr. Lynn Akhras, indicated that the collection of donations, implementation and supervision of activities was carried out with the participation of a team of 13 people, explaining that the activity of the small donor recently established by the Chamber, in which 120 children participated, reflected positively on the sustainability of the project by instilling and cultivating the culture of donation in the hearts of children. It included five schools and summer institutes.

Akhras indicated that the campaign has officially ended, but the leakage of doses continues to patients through the association, where 150 patients received their first dose and 13 patients received two doses.

The head of the Syrian Cancer Society, Dr. Ahmad Zahi Al-Shawaf, explained that the association's role in the campaign is to dispense the value of doses to patients and divert them according to the patient's choice in public or private hospitals.

He pointed out that the association has been seeking, since its establishment in 2005, to establish a complex to combat cancer, both in diagnosis and treatment, in the Al-Waer region, noting that the association is currently helping patients with a portion of the cost of treatment.

The closing ceremony of the Thousand Doses Challenge included a theatrical performance of the band (Players but), consisting of 11 male and female actors and actresses from the youth and youth, who highlighted the importance of donating and dedicating the values ​​of human solidarity and community solidarity.

The ceremony included honoring a number of commercial and community events that contributed to the success of the campaign.
