A Stuttgart climate activist disrupted a performance by Chancellor Scholz.

The police had to remove him.

A court has now imposed a fine.

Stuttgart – A protest action against Chancellor Olaf Scholz ended expensively for a climate activist: In May, the 23-year-old caused a stir at the Catholic Day in Stuttgart when he interrupted a discussion by the head of government with heckling and fought against a house ban.

Now he has been fined.

The activist shouted “nonsense” when Scholz spoke at the multi-day Christian gathering about phasing out coal-fired power generation and the jobs that would be lost in opencast mining as a result.

Another troublemaker even tried to storm the stage.

The police had to remove the climate activists from the event.

When trying to escape, the 23-year-old defended himself against the police and slightly injured an officer.

The chamber of the district court decided on a fine for resisting the police and negligent bodily harm.

In addition, there was a judgment for trespassing because the man with two companions occupied a crane on the construction site of the Stuttgart 21 railway project in May and unrolled a banner.

In total, a fine of 30 daily rates of 15 euros awaits the student.

Scholz criticized: climate activists accuse him of Nazi comparisons

Chancellor Scholz had criticized the heckling with reference to targeted disruptive actions in the past, but left open what he was referring to: "I'll be honest, these black-clad stagings at various events by the same people always remind me of a time when which was a long time ago and thank God".

Scholz was particularly sharply criticized by climate activists for this statement.

Fridays for Future activist Luisa Neubauer accused the SPD politician of comparing her to Nazis.

The Chancellor was criticized by the CDU for a different statement, which he later posted on Twitter.
