Aminata Touré is an unusual politician in many respects: she is not even 30 and already minister for family, social affairs and integration in Schleswig-Holstein, among other things.
She was already dancing on Instagram and, right at the beginning of her term in office, invited parents, educators and children to Neumünster to talk to them about daycare policy.
Her biography also stands out: Touré's parents fled Mali in 1992, and she spent the first five years of her life in a shelter for refugees in Neumünster.
When she fights against poverty and racism today, she knows what she is talking about from her own experience.
On Friday, September 16 at 6 p.m., Aminata Touré will be a guest on our digital format »DER SPIEGEL in conversation with....« In the Berlin TV studio of SPIEGEL, she will talk to Melanie Amann, a member of the editor-in-chief, about her childhood and how this was hers Working as a minister influences, about the political frustration of young Germans, about racism, wokeness and cancel culture - and she also answers your questions.
As a subscriber, you are cordially invited to follow the conversation via live stream and to take part in the discussion.
