Harry Styles apparently took the conversation that has dominated social media in recent days with humor.
The actor-singer addressed recent speculation that he spat on his "Don't Worry Darling" co-star Chris Pine during the film's premiere at the Venice Film Festival.
Videos circulating on social media show that Styles joked at his Madison Square Garden concert on Wednesday, claiming he had "run to Venice too fast to spit on Chris Pine."
Earlier in the week, people went wild online after footage from the film festival began to circulate showing Styles approaching Pine to take a seat next to the actor at a screening of the thriller.
As Styles approached his seat, he made a subtle "poh" motion with his mouth.
Pine then looked down at his lap, paused in her applause, shook her head and smiled as if there had been some kind of joke between the two stars.
The entire incident was of such magnitude that a denial of any spitting was issued.

"Just to be clear, Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine," a rep for Pine told People magazine.
"There is nothing but respect between these two men and any suggestion to the contrary is a blatant attempt to create drama that simply doesn't exist."
This was just the last alleged off-screen drama in connection with the film.
Director Olivia Wilde also faced questions about whether she and the film's star, Florence Pugh, had had any falling out.
"Florence is a force," Wilde said during a press conference at the festival.
"I can't say enough how honored I am to have her as the lead. She is amazing in the movie."
"As for all the endless tabloid gossip and all the noise out there, I mean the internet feeds itself," Wilde said.
"I don't feel the need to contribute. I think she's well fed enough."
Pugh walked the film's red carpet at the festival, but was unable to participate in the press conference due to a scheduling conflict.
