In the trial against a man who is said to have called for the hunt for police officers on the Internet after Kusel's double murder, the public prosecutor's office has demanded a prison sentence of two years and four months.
The 56-year-old was guilty, among other things, of publicly inciting criminal offenses and denigrating the memory of the deceased, said public prosecutor Wahis Afschar on Thursday in his plea before the district court in Idar-Oberstein.
Idar-Oberstein - "The facts are undisputed and proven."
Shortly after the killing of two police officers near Kusel in West Palatinate at the end of January, the man posted two self-made videos on his public Facebook profile and called for the killing of police officers.
He announced the founding of a "Cophunter" association - i.e. policeman hunters' association - and described hunting and killing of police officers as a "new sport".
The defendant admitted to the crime earlier in the trial, but said the postings were satirical.
His Facebook profiles were "comedy pages".
"It's obvious that it's just an act," said the prosecutor.
The verdict should fall on Thursday.
According to the Federal Central Register, the accused has 23 previous convictions, including theft, assault, insult and drunk driving.
They range from 1982 to 2007 and some include prison sentences of more than a year.
The man was born in Gelsenkirchen and last lived in the Birkenfeld district.
According to the psychiatric expert Anette Korte, the accused is fully capable of insight and control.
He has a personality disorder “with narcissistic and paranoid elements”.
However, he is still able to adapt and has reality control.
According to the investigation, the man is said to be attached to conspiracy theories and is close to the so-called Reich citizens.
At the end of January, a police candidate and a police commissioner were shot dead during a nightly vehicle check in the Palatinate.
The background is said to have been poaching.
Two defendants are currently on trial in Kaiserslautern.
