This Wednesday, Michelle Obama returned to the White House.
Together with Barack Obama, she starred in one of the most popular traditions of the White House, that of presenting the portraits of the previous presidents.
The ritual was interrupted in the administration of Donald Trump.
The Obamas will be the first African-Americans to hang their paintings in the presidential gallery.
The hyper-realistic painter Robert McCurdy was in charge of creating the portrait of the former president, while the artist Sharon Sprung did the same with the former first lady.
