Today, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad, received a copy of the credentials of Ambassador Andrés Dos Santos, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Brazil to the Syrian Arab Republic.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of developing them in various fields to serve the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Miqdad welcomed the Brazilian government's decision to appoint a new ambassador in Damascus and wished Ambassador dos Santos success in performing his duties and endeavors to strengthen relations between the two countries.
Miqdad stressed the importance of the deep historical friendship between Syria and Brazil and Syria's keenness to develop bilateral relations with Brazil in the political, economic and cultural fields, and called for strengthening coordination and communication between the two countries at all levels regarding issues of common interest.
Minister Miqdad stressed on benefiting from the good relations between the two friendly peoples due to the presence of a large and influential community of Syrian origin in Brazil.
In turn, the Brazilian ambassador expressed his deep thanks and appreciation for the welcome he received from the Syrian government during the few days since his arrival in Damascus. Advance relations at all levels.
In this regard, the ambassador presented some important aspects that he seeks to work on to strengthen bilateral relations.
From the Syrian side, the meeting was attended by Ambassador Khalil Al-Bitar, Director of America's Department in the Ministry, Ambassador Ghassan Obaid, Director of the Communication and Ceremonies Department, Dr. Abdullah Hallaq, Director of the Executive Support Department, Raif Al-Halabi, Director of the Information Department, and Adib Al-Ashqar from the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
