The planned wind turbine 850 meters south of Prack is met with resistance in the Maisacher district.

The council takes the concerns seriously.

Rottbach – Mayor Hans Seidl (CSU) had invited to an information event in the Überacker sports home.

In May he presented the plans for the wind turbine for the first time in the same place - at the citizens' meeting in front of an audience of 60 at the time.

This time more than 100 citizens were there.

They found out that the wind turbine would be higher than announced a good three months ago.

Instead of a hub height of 180 meters and a rotor with 110 meters - resulting in a total height of around 235 meters - the hub height is now only 166 meters, but the rotor diameter is 160 meters.

Total height: almost 250 meters.

Rather in the north

Several practitioners expressed concerns about the optical effect and the shadow cast.

One said that the windmill could be built north of Prack.

“People are oriented towards the south.

I'd rather have the wind turbine behind me than in front of me," said the man.

A suggestion that Seidl wants to have checked.

The head of the town hall could not discuss concerns about the shadow cast in detail.

A report will be prepared for this.

“There are clear legal regulations on this,” said Seidl.

For example, a wind turbine has to be switched off as soon as a residential building is shaded by the system for more than 30 minutes a day.

Already so many cyclists

Another Pracker felt his district was disadvantaged: "We already have three biogas plants around us, the Räuber-Kneißl-Weg brings us cyclists every weekend who look into the gardens - what do we still have to endure Pracker?" An accusation that Seidl rejected – especially since there are now a total of seven inquiries for wind turbines at locations in the community.

"We don't expect the slobs any more than anyone else, if the expansion of renewable energies is an impertinence at all."

(

By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular

FFB newsletter.)

Seidl referred to the wind-on-shore law.

As part of this, the federal government obliges the states to make a total of 1.8 percent of their land available for wind power by 2032.

For the municipality of Maisach with an area of 53 square kilometers, this would be 954,000 square meters for wind power.

steering

If this does not happen, the wind turbines are privileged and can simply be built without a development plan with the distances according to the Federal Immission Control Act.

"Sensible control is then taken out of the hands of the community," stressed Seidl.

He wants the community to be able to take care of itself as much as possible.

"This is the only way we can become independent and unpredictable," he said, referring to the latest developments.

The municipal council fractions also spoke out in favor of the expansion of renewable energies.

Angelika Simon-Kraus said: "Our children will have to endure greater demands from the climate crisis than seeing a wind turbine 850 meters away." Peter Aust (SPD) said with regard to fossil fuels and nuclear waste: "There is no chimney on a wind turbine , no drain pipe and no yellow barrel left.”

Energy consultant Gottfried Obermair (FW) explained that the wind turbine will not be pushed through at any price.

"If there are too many arguments against it, we won't build it." However, if the site is suitable according to the reports, the energy transition must be promoted.

"It won't be possible to do this invisibly," he said, referring to the visual effects of the system.
